We live in an amazing part of the world where the land meets the sea.

​

Fall Break Camp 2024 will be a memorable half-week spent in the great outdoors and full of learning and playing and adventuring on land, in the sea, and everywhere in-between!

 

Getting in the ocean, hiking coastal trails and exploring the tidepools are all full-body sensory experiences and FUN ways to learn, connect kids to the environment and pique interest in ocean activities, a wide variety of land and sea animals, native plants and their habitats. Together we will learn about:

- Ocean safety, surf lessons and how to take care of the ocean

- Native plants & animals and why we care about them

- Why/when there are low and high tides and how the moon and sun are involved

- The resilient animals that live in intertidal zones

- How tides affect surfing and tide pools
 

In learning, playing and exploring these beautiful natural spaces right here in our neighborhood, our hope is to cultivate joy, gratitude, curiosity, awareness, connection and appreciation for the ocean and natural world!

Note: There are NO swim/surf prerequisites for this program. Ideal candidates are those who already love the ocean/surfing, or are curious and willing to learn!

Days of program: Monday - Wednesday @ 10am-2pm

​

Meeting locations: OB & Sunset Cliffs

​

Daily essentials: water bottle, snacks/lunch, sunscreen, swimsuit, wetsuit*, towel, flip flops, change of dry clothes, sweatshirts/jackets/weather-appropriate wear

*FULL WETSUITS are required. If you do not have one–let us know and you can borrow one for the week

​Schedule (4 hours):

10:00-10:15 Arrive & ground into the space

10:15-10:35 Opening circle

10:35-11:05 Bathroom/Sunscreen/Snack

11:05-11:35 Ocean/tides/trees lesson

11:35-12:45 Ocean/tidepools/nature adventure time

12:45-1:15 Lunch

1:15-1:45 Beach games/craft/kids' choice activities

1:45-2:00 Closing circle & pack-up to go home

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

- Security deposits are non-refundable.

- Cancellation must be made prior to 2 weeks from the start of the session to receive a refund. Once the session begins, no refund will be given.

- During the session, if you cannot attend a class due to illness, travel etc. no refund or makeup of the class can be made.

- If Ocean School needs to cancel class for any reason, we will make every attempt to make up the class at another date. If this is not possible, the class will be refunded.
