​​This program is a holistic, well-rounded approach to ocean knowledge and safety, in-water experience and development of overall health and fitness. We provide the knowledge, tools and supportive container for students to: develop their awareness, confidence, skills and abilities in the ocean; connect with, listen to and take care of their bodies; find joy through movement, nature and exercise; spark meaningful friendships and connections in a loving community.

Class sizes are kept small for individualized instruction and support. There’s a beautiful unlocking that can happen amongst peers in a small group; a realization of “if they can do it, so can I.” We’ve witnessed students who, at first, wanted nothing to do with the water all of a sudden charge in the moment they see their friends go. They can feed off each others’ enthusiasm and stoke. Together, we are braver and stronger. Breakthroughs can happen faster. In times of difficulty or greater challenge, their network of coaches and peers is there to support them and remind them that they’re never alone. Learning together is more fun!

A few of the things we will cover: Love and respect for the ocean. Essential ocean safety knowledge and skills. Practical knowledge about the ocean (IE: tides, wind, waves, swell, rip and longshore currents, beach/reef/point breaks etc). Body awareness, positive body image and mind-body connection through FUNctional high-impact games & exercises, mindful movement. All about boards and how to manage them. Ocean conservation education and how to give back to ocean, take care of our environment and feel empowered through small day-to-day actions that make a huge difference.

0:00-0:10 Settling in/child-led games while children arrive
0:10-0:25 Opening circle

0:25-1:00 On-shore practice: warm-up, FUNctional exercises, ocean knowledge & safety lesson

1:00-1:45 In-water practice
1:45-2:00 Closing circle
