Are you ready for a summer full of sunshine, saltwater and stoke?!

WE ARE!!!

​

Join us week-by-week this summer for all the ocean and outdoor adventures including daily ocean time, surf lessons with ISA-certified surf instructors/lifeguards, beach games & team-building activities, nature-immersed walks along the river, beach clean-ups, upcycled arts and crafts and So much more!

Note: There are NO swim/surf prerequisites for this program. Ideal candidates are those who already love the ocean/surfing, or are curious and willing to learn!

What are we learning?

All of our learnings and activities tie back to the 3 Pillars of Ocean School: 1) Respect the Ocean 2) Love the Ocean and 3) Give back to the Ocean.

 

We provide the knowledge and tools for children to first know how stay safe in the ocean (review ocean safety protocol, how to read the ocean, identify rips, know and respect their own limits etc.)

 

Once a healthy respect of the ocean is established, we learn to love and enjoy the Ocean! One of the primary ways we do this is through surf lessons. We give individualized instruction to support each and every one of our surfers, whether it's their first time ever or are already more experienced.

 

Surfing is definitely one of our favorite ways to connect to Ocean, but there are countless other ways as well! We create a safe and supportive container that gives children permission to explore the ocean in a variety of ways (ie: boogie-boarding, frolicking in the white wash, body-surfing, snorkeling, etc) and take their learning into their own hands.

Finally we learn how we can each do our part to take care of the ocean! We make ocean conservation simple and fun and practical through group beach clean-ups and upcycled art projects and games.

​

Our hope is that every child goes home with salty hair and sparkling eyes... inspired and with a newfound gratitude for the ocean, themself and the world around them!

What to bring: water bottle, snacks/lunch, sunscreen, sun hat/sunglasses/rashguards/other protective gear they may need, swimsuit/wetsuit, towel, flip flops, change of dry clothes

Full Wetsuits are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED, let us know if you would like to borrow one for the week

Typical Daily Schedule (4 hours):

9:30-9:45 Arrive & settle in/kids' choice activities

9:45-10:15 Opening circle

10:15-10:45 Bathroom/Sunscreen/Snack

10:45-11:15 Land lesson & ocean safety

11:15-12:15 Ocean/tidepools/nature adventure time

12:15-12:45 Lunch

12:45-1:15 Beach games/free play

1:15-1:30 Closing circle & pack-up to go home

• Price is sliding scale and payment plans are available.

• Sibling discount: take 20% off second sibling.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

- Security deposits are non-refundable.

​

- Cancellation must be made 24 hours before the start of the session to receive a refund. Once the session begins, no refund will be given.

 

- During the session, if you cannot attend a class due to illness, travel etc. no refund or makeup of the class can be made.

 

- If Ocean School needs to cancel class for any reason, we will make every attempt to make up the class at another date. If this is not possible, the class will be refunded.
