Ocean School's 4th SURF CONTEST

$50 entry fee
This is a beginner-friendly amateur surf contest. Our goal is for students to learn how surf contests work (ie: surfing in a heat, understanding how points are scored, etc.), gain practical experience and further develop their surf practice in a supportive, motivating environment. Most of all, this is an opportunity to get in the ocean and have FUN with friends and family!
Judge is looking to score points for the longest rides. Kids can bring their own boards or borrow an Ocean School 8' foamie for the event.
All are welcome--bring your family, friends, dogs to watch, surf and cheer!

As with all of our contest events, this is a celebration of and for the children to showcase all of their diligence, talent and hard work. We recognize and validate the children's willingness to show up and their efforts more than anything else.
The final scores are NOT the focus, nor do they define us in any way!
Anything can happen in a surf heat as we are working with whatever Ocean gives us. We remember that when we win, when we lose, it is just one contest. We have our whole lives to compete if we so choose and there are opportunities every day to improve and learn and grow.
We emphasize that no matter what the results--we can always feel proud of ourselves for doing our best!
